In-Person Professional Development in Germany

The Goethe-Institut in the USA awards scholarships for participation in language courses and professional development seminars (e.g. cultural studies, German as a foreign language theory and practice) in Germany. You may apply for a Goethe-Institut scholarship if you are a teacher of German as a foreign language or are involved in the teacher training of such teachers; this also applies if you work at a PASCH school.

Since 2025 we have used MS Forms for scholarship applications. The link to apply for scholarships for 2026 can be found below. The application deadline is 11/04/2025.


Please note: If you have received a Goethe-Institut scholarship between now and 2022, you are not eligible to apply for another scholarship until four years have passed since receiving the last scholarship.
