This inquiry explores who refugees are and why they flee their homes. Students will learn what led so many refugees to see asylum in Germany during the refugee crisis in 2015, and thereafter. Students will explore the definitions of refugees, immigrants, migrants, asylum seekers, and internally displaced people. They will also learn what makes Germany a desirable destination for refugees.
