The MORE THAN GERMAN material for teachers in Finland shows how multilingual didactics can be used in German lessons. With it, students do not "only" learn German, another foreign language, but use their (prior) knowledge in all languages as a resource. The point is to discover and use similarities between the languages and to exchange and reflect on their language learning. For this purpose, the worksheets contain not only detailed tasks, but also learning strategies and tips.
This publication is based on three workshops on creating multilingual teaching materials for teaching German, conducted by Anta Kursiša and Ulrike Richter-Vapaatalo from the Institute of Languages (German) at the University of Helsinki.
