Chapter Book boxes and class sets

Reading should be fun - even in German! It is not necessary to understand every word. The important thing is that students enjoy reading and improve their reading skills.

To promote reading fun in German classes, we have compiled current German-language books for young readers with topics and styles that appeal to students.

Lending
As a teacher in the Netherlands, you can borrow book sets and classroom sets from us for three to six months. Shipping costs are a maximum of €15 per package.

You must be a personal member of the Goethe Library. We do not offer school memberships. A membership costs €20 for one year or €30 for two years.
Contrary to what is stated on the website, you do not need to confirm your registration in person at the library.

It is not possible to reserve book cases and class sets online. The agreed loan period can only be extended in consultation with the library staff, as the book cases or class sets may already be reserved internally. Online extensions will not be honored.

Most book cases contain at least 30 books. However, you can also borrow fewer or even more books. There are book cases with books written specifically for beginner German learners at language levels A1 and A2, as well as book cases with young adult books at levels A2/B1, B1, and B2 and above. You can find more information on this website of the Goethe-Institut Netherlands.
