Around 17 million adults in Germany have problems understanding complex texts. So that they too can find out about current topics, tagesschau is broadcasting television news in plain language.
Reliable, up-to-date news for everyone - this is not only important in order to stay informed, but also to participate in social discourse. However, traditional news is not always understandable for everyone. That's why tagesschau is also available in plain language.
It is the first daily television news program of its kind in Germany. From Monday to Friday, the ARD-aktuell editorial team in Hamburg produces one edition each day, summarizing the most important topics of the day.

- From 7 p.m. (CET) the programs are available here in the livestream: tagesschau in Plain language.
- You will then find all programs in the ARD media library.
