received his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and teaches in the German Studies, University Honors, and Comparative and World Literature programs at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), as well as serving as Guest Professor at Portland State University’s German Summer School of the Pacific. He has published widely on Schiller, Kleist, Thomas Mann, Sophie Mereau, and María de Zayas. His most recent book, Thomas Mann’s Anti-Fascist Radio Addresses 1940–1945: Listen, Germany! , co-edited and co-translated with Elaine Chen, will be released in June 2025.
