Sigrid Weigel
Sigrid Weigel is a German literary and cultural scholar. From 1999 to 2015, she was the director of the Leibniz Center for Literary and Cultural Research (ZFL) in Berlin, working on interdisciplinary topics such as memory, image theory and the relationship between the humanities and the natural sciences. She has published on Heinrich Heine, Freud, Warburg, Ingeborg Bachmann, Hannah Arendt and Susan Taubes. In April 2025, Sigrid Weigel gave a lecture on the relationship between Walter Benjamin and Hannah Arendt as part of the Walter Benjamin Week hosted by the Goethe-Institut and the German Consulate General in Barcelona.
