Paris Martínez
Paris Martínez is a reporter specializing in coverage of human rights violations, victims of violence, vulnerable communities, and social movements. He is co-author of the book Permiso para matar (“License to Kill”), which examines crimes against humanity committed by the Mexican state. He was also a mentor and member of the founding team of the Unidad de Investigaciones Periodísticas at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
Among other honors, he has received the German Journalist Award (2024), the Latin American Investigative Journalism Award (2020), the Anthony Lewis Prize for Exceptional Rule of Law Journalism (2018), and Mexico’s National Journalism Excellence Award “Rostros de la Discriminación” (2014).
