Meet-Up: Funding in times of Defunding
Meet-Up|Workshop for transnational artists who are new in Berlin
-
ACUD Studio, Berlin
- Language English
- Price free entrance
We are pleased that Felix Sodemann (touring artists) will begin by offering an overview of the current public funding opportunities in Berlin and showing how access can still be facilitated despite reduced chances—sharing tips and strategies for navigating the intensified competition. At the same time, the discussion will highlight structural issues and underscore the need for sustainable cultural funding.
In addition, Sabrina Apitz (Kreativ Kultur Berlin) will provide insights into private funding sources such as foundations and outline their potential for cultural practitioners. Finally, the program will look beyond national borders: Which special funding opportunities abroad may open up new perspectives for transnational artists and projects?
This workshop responds to the present challenges while pointing to constructive ways for transnational, exiled, and displaced cultural practitioners to remain active despite shrinking resources.
But we would also like to hear from you: What are your current experiences? How are you dealing with the tightened funding situation? Do you have any other tips or workarounds?
