9th Edition
The Science Film Festival, celebrated as one of the biggest science event in the Philippines, is now on its 8th year in the country. The festival which will take place on November 12 to December 07, is organized by Goethe-Institut with the support from the Department of Education (DepEd), the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), SM Cinema, and GMA Network.

A selection of 31 films will be screened at Museo Pambata, The Mind Museum, Manila Ocean Park, Philippine Science Centrum, The National Libraries of the Philippines, Quezon City Science Interactive Centre, Xavier University, Liceo de Cagayan University, Felta Multimedia, ABLAN Foundation and Philippine Society of Youth Science Clubs throughout the country during the festival period. There will also be screenings in select public schools and science high schools nationwide through the facilitation of DepEd and DOST-SEI.

With more than 180,000 participants last year, Goethe-Institut aims to reach more this year as it positions itself as a growing and consolidating contributor to science and education in the Philippines.

Show all Pre-Jury Members of the Philippines

Over 30 pre-jury members with expertise in science education and science communication in the participating countries and in-depth knowledge of the local target audience are closely involved in the selection process. All films are translated and synchronized or subtitled into local languages where necessary to offer access without language barriers.
