5th Edition
The Science Film Festival, held from October 7 to December 20 in Ethiopia and South Sudan, marked its fifth year in Ethiopia and third in South Sudan. Organized by the Goethe-Institut Ethiopia in partnership with the Ethiopian Academy of Science (EAS), the Children’s Science Center, the Juba Film Festival, and schools across both countries, the festival focused on engaging students with curated films and hands-on experiments.

Twenty films, six experiments, and fifteen Amharic-dubbed titles were featured, aligning with school curricula for students aged 9–18. Events reached 1,863 students in Addis Ababa through 20 screenings and experiments, while an additional 324 participants joined at the Juba Film Festival in South Sudan.

The festival concluded with a ceremony at the Goethe-Institut Ethiopia on December 17, showcasing outcomes and student experiments. Despite logistical challenges, 26 schools participated and over 2,100 attendees joined the 11-week event in 2024.
