The 13th edition of the Science Film Festival in Vietnam took place in 2023, co-organized by the Goethe-Institut Vietnam and facilitated by longstanding partner, THD Education Solutions Company. This edition was also supported through the collaborative efforts of MoU Partners, including the General Science Library of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City - University of Science (VNUHCM-US), The Inspire Schools Khai Nguyen, and Green Hub, with Rolls-Royce as key regional partner in Southeast Asia.

The festival spotlighted the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, featuring a curated selection of 12 fi lms. The screenings were held from October 10 to December 31, reaching various cities and provinces across Vietnam. A novel approach introduced last year aimed to engage science enthusiasts by drawing on the inspiration of teachers, educational activists, and experts from vibrant social organizations. This initiative encouraged them to become “Science Ambassadors” for the festival, generating considerable interest. The 2023 Science Film Festival was a resounding success, attracting 42,656 attendees, involving 199 science ambassadors, and facilitating over 441 fi lm screenings nationwide.

This outcome highlights the festival’s growing appeal among teachers, schools, and educators. It underscores the effectiveness of leveraging educational networks to enhance the festival’s reach and impact in future editions.
