Spanning fifty years, the film follows a farming family in Haute-Savoie. In 1972, the Bertrand dairy farm — run by three brothers and home to a hundred animals — is filmed for the first time. When director and neighbor Gilles Perret returns in 1997, the farm is being passed on to nephew Patrick and his wife Hélène. Twenty‑five years later, he picks up the camera again as Hélène prepares to hand over the reins. Through the voices and gestures of those who shaped the farm across generations, the film traces intimate life paths shaped by work, continuity, and change — offering a social and economic portrait of the French farming world.
