Terms and Conditions
German Language Competition

The German Language competition will open on 21 September 2025 and run until 26 October 2025 (23:59 AEST). Entries prior to or after those dates are not valid. Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these conditions. Entry into this promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  1. Participation in the prize draw is restricted to individuals aged 18 and over. Minors are excluded from participation. By entering, you confirm that you are of legal age. The organiser reserves the right to request proof of age if necessary.
  2. The competition is restricted to registered competition entries.
  3. No purchase necessary. Winners will not be required to pay to enter the competition.
  4. Only one entry per person is accepted. Double entries will be excluded from the competition.
  5. Winners will be notified on 29 October 2025. The winners will be contacted by email and will have to provide an email address to receive the prize. The result of the prize decision is final, and no negotiation will be entered into.
  6. The value of the prize is not exchangeable or redeemable for cash, credit or any other goods or services. Valid for the online or in-person courses (total of 30 hours) with a total value of $649. Voucher expires on 20.04.2026.
  7. The promoter (Goethe-Institut Australia), other entities and agencies associated with this competition and each of their officers, agents, employees and immediate family are ineligible to enter.
  8. No responsibility will be taken by the promoter for any ineligible or lost entries or entries submitted before 21 September or received after 26 October 2025 (23:59 GMT+11). Entries that do not comply with these terms and conditions, are incomplete or submitted/received by the promoter outside the competition time frame, will be declared void.
  9. Each entrant shall enter the competition using the sign up form on our website.
  10. Acceptance of the prize is deemed to be acceptance by the winner of these terms and conditions and approval to use the winner’s name for publicity purposes, unless specifically requested by the winner not to do so at the time of accepting the prize.
  11. If the competition does not run for its duration due to (but not limited to) computer viruses, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the promoter's control that corrupts or affects administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the competition, the promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition or disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.
  12. The promoter will not be responsible for: (a) Malfunction, delay or traffic congestion on any computer online system, servers or providers, computer equipment, software or website. (b) Failure of any entry to be received by the promoter as a result of those matters listed under 10. (a). (c) Any injury or damage to entrants or any other person related to or resulting from participation in the competition or downloading any materials relating to the competition.
  13. By entering the draw the participant agrees to personalised marketing campaigns by Goethe-Institut Australia. Data is stored with a third-party provider in accordance with GDPR. The participant can make changes to their email preferences and unsubscribe from the personalised marketing campaigns at any time. Detailed information on data protection can be found here.
