Ten-year-old Tom doesn't like the colour red or change. He has to drink something every three hours. His wristwatch reminds him constantly. The fact that his mother has to travel to China for four weeks for her job is a disaster for him. Equipped with a logbook and an astronaut suit, and accompanied by his older siblings, the daring Elmar and the communicative Nina, the future space traveller embarks on his first mission: to visit his unconventional grandparents in the countryside. Because one thing is certain: if he can make this trip, then he will be ready to fly to Mars one day.

Finn is having a run of bad luck. First, the canoe trip with his father gets canceled, then he gets robbed on the train to Berlin. On top of that, neither the conductor nor the arriving police believe the ten-year-old when he says his backpack - with his ticket inside - has disappeared. Kannawoniwasein! Luckily, he meets the adventurous Jola, who promptly hijacks a rickety old tractor. An exciting journey to the sea begins, where a brazen biker gang, a real wolf, and many more wild adventures await the two runaways.
