Felix und Franzi Teaching Materials

The Felix and Franzi characters, along with engaging materials, were developed by the Goethe-Institut in London for use in primary education. Each unit follows the story of Felix the frog and Franzi den duck, the funny hand puppets originally from Germany. The two characters accompany the students through the syllabus introducing new vocabulary and activities in each chapter. Interactive learning is encouraged with the use if fun and interesting videos and songs.

The materials are available for download free of charge:

Felix and Franzi Online Room

This online room is based on German with Felix und Franzi Volume I and can be used in addition to existing Felix and Franzi classroom materials.

The chapters in this online course are intended to be between 30 and 60 minutes long depending on the type of activities and the student’s individual learning speed. A typical sequence of each unit includes a video clip, a mix between open and closed questions, vocabulary, songs and games. Students will receive instant feedback on quizzes and can discuss and interact with fellow learners through forum and blog-entries.
