The Goethe-Institut is thrilled to be partnering with the Jewish International Film Festival in 2022! We are proud to co-present three incredible films: Wet Dog , the Red Orchestra, and Helmut Newton: The Bad and the Beautiful.

The Jewish International Film Festival – JIFF – is home to the most comprehensive selection of Israeli and Jewish-themed films in Australia. Building on a long and proud 30-year history of Jewish film festivals in Australia, JIFF presents a fresh and diverse selection of Jewish cinema from Australia and around the world.

Adapting to change has been the theme for all of us over the last two years, a story with which all Jewish peoples are particularly familiar. Thus, JIFF’s 2022 theme is ‘heroes of change’. The festival will feature a vibrant abundance of Australian stories interwoven with tales of survival, friendship while exploring the generational history of Jewish people.
In 2022, the Festival will screen 55 feature films from 20 different countries, including two world premiere screenings of Australian films, alongside a suite of live arts events to audiences in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, Canberra and the exciting new addition of the Gold Coast.

From stories of unlikely friendships, strange true life events, to the heroes of history, JIFF makes its sparkling return to Australian cinemas, showcasing the very best of Jewish cinematic gems from around the globe.

Tickets are now on sale. We hope to see you at the movies!
