The Goethe-Institut proudly enters into a sustainable future with its newly mounted solar panels at the institute in Sydney.
Installed with the assistance of the Solar my Suburb program and supported through a Woollahra Council Community Environmental Grant, the panels will help us operate in more environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient ways. Moreover, we recently finalised a series of extensive renovations on the landmark building in Woollahra’s leafy Ocean Street.
In combination, the refurbished landmark building and its environmentally conscious operation are a twofold success story: locally for the conservation of heritage architecture, and globally for the protection of the environment. With these works completed, we are looking forward to officially activate the facility in the presence of our Munich-based global CEO, Johannes Ebert – who will be in Australia to visit the Goethe-Institut teams in Sydney and Melbourne – and Sydney's German General-Consul, Axel Zeidler.
