Photography Festival | The Future Is Shaped by Those Who Can See It
PHOTO Australia has been established by Elias Redstone in partnership with founding board members William Bowness AO, Mark Henry and Naomi Milgrom AC. The festival supports universal access to diverse, progressive, meaningful discourse to make sense of yourself and the world around you. It is achieved through the promotion and commissioning of new photography, connecting Australia to global artists and the celebration of the power of photography to illuminate lived experiences.
It’s the third edition of the biennial event and it continues their amazing program! It also presents several exhibitions by established German artists. In addition to “Wanderings in History” which is supported by the Goethe-Institut, PHOTO 2024 presents the work of German artists Jana Hartmann, Michael Najjar, Sebastian Schmieg and Boris Eldagsen.
100 free exhibitions by over 150 artists can be discovered in various galleries and numerous unusual locations throughout Melbourne and Victoria. There are also over 110 tours, talks and workshops.
