We proudly present Everything’s Fifty Fifty by German-Iranian filmmaker Alireza Golafshan during the German Weeks this year. The award-winning filmmaker takes a loving and intelligent look at his characters and explores the question of whether the desire for family harmony in blended families is realistic. Moritz Bleibtreu (Run Lola, run) embodies a divorced man on holiday with his ex-wife, played by a brilliant Laura Tonke, and their son. The parents realise that the agreed fifty-fifty parenting style leaves big gaps in their son's upbringing: their eleven-year-old son drinks espresso and can't swim...

The film “Everything's Fifty Fifty” captivates with its quick-witted dialogue and humorous portrayal of modern parenting issues. Critics particularly praise the authentic portrayal of family dynamics.
