New ideas for the classroom, professional exchange, and the development of one’s own language skills: The Goethe-Institut’s Sommerschule offers secondary school German teachers a compact, practice-oriented professional development programme over three days.

Like the Winterschule, this format combines intensive workshop sessions, practical application, and collegial exchange. A particular focus lies on key challenges in German language teaching – especially on effective and engaging approaches to teaching grammar.

You will explore:
  • contemporary approaches to teaching grammar
  • ways to make grammar communicative and student-centred
  • strategies to support learners in building linguistic confidence
Further components address current topics in teaching practice and cultural studies, offering fresh ideas and new perspectives.

A curated cultural program complements the course and provides additional opportunities for exchange and networking.

Teachers at State Schools in Victoria: free of charge (Thanks to the Support of the Victorian Government)
