Biography Bemnet Fekadu

Bemnet Fekadu is a professional photographer and videographer working out of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. With a background in Architecture and almost ten years of experience in photography and videography, Bemnet has an extensive experience in visual storytelling, especially stories related with space, identity, and history. Thus landscape, street and portrait photographs are hallmarks of his work.

Throughout his career, Bemnet had the opportunity to collaborate with Ethiopian and non-Ethiopian photographers on capacity building and co-production platforms. He also had the opportunity to receive mentorship from renowned photographers such as Michael Tsegaye and further experience in exhibition installation, such as Wolfgang Tillmans' "Fragile" exhibition in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Bemnet's works have over the years been featured on group exhibitions such as "Against Gravity" and "Land of Origins".
