"CONTEMPORARY NIGHT"

Contemporary Nights is an artists for artists initiative that meets on the last Thursday of each month at various spots in Addis. We collectively construct a space for important art, relevant discussions and constructive criticism – in an open and inclusive environment.  Artists from different disciplines share a venue to showcase their artworks and enter their chosen medium of expression into dialogues of interconnectivity.  Each session concludes with a conversation analysing and reflecting upon what has taken place during our shared evening. 

In this session of Contemporary Nights we explore “movement”. We’ll watch, hear, read as dancers, photographers, writers, and filmmakers grapple with the concept of movement.  Be it movement in time, or movement of the body on stage, or flight of a lover in a story we’ll discover how artists from different mediums express then redefine our understanding of movement.
