More than Playing!
Could there be more to games than just a pass-time activity? This is a question we’ll be exploring in our monthly EnterAfrica Game-day events. Explore, make and play games.

Come join us as we take you through a sneak peek to our upcoming new game (Arada – The Quest for Omniscience).

We will see the power of games and how they’ve always been with us in our journey of seeking a better self and better life. We will see how we can use games to enhance our well-being, experimenting with different types of games (analogue, physical and digital), see the application of games (Simulation, Gamification, Playful Design, Serious Games, and Board Games), use of games in different sectors (education, health, public safety, business) and genre of games (competitive, collaborative, explorative). We will create, play and review games, learn the process behind game development and explore the gaming industry, and explore how we can be part of this industry.

EnterAfrica is a project by Goethe-Institut, in which interdisciplinary teams including IT experts, artists, urban planners, and architects in 15 African cities create location-based games that can be played on mobile devices. The focus of these games is to anticipate transformation processes and envision future scenarios in regard to challenges that could emerge for infrastructure, culture and the environment. The aim is to also create an analogue game about borderlessness and promotion of African cultures.
