Haddis Alemayehu was one of the senior officials of Ethiopia during Emperor Haileselassie time. He served his country at different positions as patriot in the Second Italo-Ethiopian War, as governor, as minister and diplomat. He also contributed a lot to Ethiopian literature and published seven books those are fictions and non -fictions.

One of his known book is " ትዝታ - Memorabilia” ,  his memory  at the eve of the  the Second Italo-Ethiopian War. In this book he wrote about an incident, whereby his theater was staged and one of the characters, who was deep in his character, waving the sword in his hand and sang warriors’ song. At this time the audience became restless and foreigners started to leave the theater.
