"ምስለ ምሳሌ"

Sebhat-Leab Gebre-Egziabher (1936 – 2012) was an Ethiopian writer. He is famous for pioneering the naturalist writing style in Amharic. His writing style was not constrained by the traditional Ethiopian writing style nor orthodox syntax. Despite using simple words and seemingly light prose, Sebhat's concepts are highly sophisticated and philosophical.

The short story we want to read you is taken from a book “የትረካ ጥበብ“, a collected works of Sebhat, which is  of published recently.

It is a love story where the man is infertile and want to have a baby. She also wants to give him a baby, even though she knows that he is infertile. But he thinks she didn’t know not that.
