Falling Walls Lab

Falling Walls Lab is a world-class pitch competition and networking platform that connects students and researchers from different backgrounds. It creates multiple platforms across the globe where individuals with innovative research concepts pitch their ideas to a panel of experts for the chance to participate in a global pitch competition in Berlin, Germany, and the opportunity to raise support for their projects.

2023 marks the first time that the Falling Walls Lab comes to Ethiopia through the combined efforts of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Starting 2pm on Friday, 26 May 2023, the Goethe-Institut Äthiopien hosts twenty shortlisted Ethiopian researchers who will present their 3-minute pitch to a panel of experts for the chance to participate in the global competition. The programme is open to the public and visitors are encouraged to come and network with the next generation of Ethiopian researchers and academics.
