Code of Conduct
This game jam and its related events focus on bringing communities together through collaboration, innovation, and experimentation. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, appearance, ethnicity, national origin, citizenship, socioeconomic status, and faith (or lack thereof).This Code of Conduct outlines our guidelines for all participants in the Game Jam and its related events, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behaviours. We invite all those who participate in this Game Jam to help us maintain these guidelines and create safe and positive experiences for everyone. Note that this policy applies to the behaviours of members of the community both online and on-site, and to the content of the games produced during the event.
If you witness a violation of this Code of Conduct or the content policy, you may report it by:
- Speaking to an on-site organizer or volunteer; or
- Emailing culture-hongkong@goethe.de
Appropriate Behavior
We wish for the participants to exercise consideration and respect in both speech and actions, attempt collaboration over conflict, and refrain from any demaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour and speech. We also expect the same consideration and respect to be applied to games and content created during the Jam.Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Alert site organisers or on-site security immediately if a dangerous situation arises, or if someone appears to be in distress or violating this Code of Conduct, even if the situation seems inconsequential.
Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behavior includes intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning speech or actions by any participant, whether at the Game Jam site, in the online community, at all related events, or in one-on-one communications conducted in the context of community business. As community event venues may be shared with members of the public, participants are expected to be respectful to all patrons of these locations and abide to both venue rules and Game Jam policies, including this Code of Conduct.Harassment may include harmful or prejudicial verbal or written comments related to gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, appearance, ethnicity, national origin, citizenship, socioeconomic status, or religion; deliberate intimidation, stalking or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or events; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention.
Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, organizers may take action to address it, which may include temporary bans or permanent expulsion from the Game Jam or related events without warning.If You Witness or Experience Unacceptable Behavior
If you are subject to or witness unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please report it by speaking to an on-site organizer or volunteer, contacting on-site security personnel, or emailing culture-hongkong@goethe.de.Addressing Grievances
If you feel you have been falsely or unfairly accused of violating this Code of Conduct, you may notify the organizers with a concise description of your grievance.Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all participants, including contributors (paid or unpaid), sponsors, and guests. It covers behavior during the game jam and related events, both online and in-person, as well as all communications related to community business.License and Attribution
This Code of Conduct is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license and is based on the Global Game Jam Code of Conduct.Content Policy
Game Jams, including this one, are about sharing, creating together, and learning from each other. All participants are expected to share their games publicly and present them at the end of the event. The team that created the game retains ownership of the original content and may use it as they see fit during and after the event.However, the Game Jam organizers reserve the right to prevent the creation or remove any uploaded games if the content is deemed offensive, unsuitable, or in violation of local policies.
