The Best German Book Design

‘The Best German Book Design” is a prestigious annual award for the best designed and produced books in Germany. This exhibition will present outstanding book design with the winning titles of 2012 and 2013.

This exclusive selection of 50 award-winning titles from the major book design competition in Germany "Die schönsten deutschen Bücher" the "Best German Book Design", award of the STIFTUNG BUCHKUNST is representing the most exemplary when it comes to design, conception and finish.

This award with its tradition of now over 60 years shows each year the best-crafted German books. They are quality books demonstrating the creativity in design and high standard of technical workmanship and print technology. Nearly 1000 books compete each year, a specialist jury (Book designer, publisher, librarians) discussed in several steps which book should be one of the 25 awarded books.

5 Categories (General Literature; Academic Works and Educational Textbooks; Guides and Non-Fiction; Art and Photography, Exhibition Catalogues; Children's and Young People's Books) and 5 books each represent outstanding design and the latest trends in publishing industry in Germany where book design is still highly regarded.

The Goethe-Institut Hongkong and the Macao Library and Information Management Association are pleased to present most of the awarded books from 2012 and 2013 in Macau.
