Moderator: Vivienne Chow
Civil society and art are often in a dynamic interrelationship: social themes that are perceived as relevant and meaningful find their expression in the arts. And art offers a medium for social debates. Hong Kong, with its vibrant cultural and creative scene and a very active civil society, is an impressive testimony to this.
The Goethe-Institut is opening a new series of talks on the topic of civil society and art, in which various areas will be focused on in loose succession. The first event will focus on independent film. Following the screening of "Yellowing" (Chan Tze Woon, 2016) on 31st July, we will now show "Lost in the Fumes" (Nora Lam, 2017) and invite the audience to discuss with the filmmakers.
Rundown:
19.00 Screening of "Lost in the Fumes"
20.40 Panel Discussion with Nora Lam and Chan Tsz Woon
Online registration *Due to limited seating and high demand, please contact Mr Willi Kwok at wing-lok.kwok@goethe.de to cancel your reservation if you cannot attend the event.
