REfract@6degrees - Exploring Collaborative Pathways in Dance and Technology
Dance and Technology|A Presentation by Zelia ZZ Tan
-
Goethe-Gallery & Black Box Studio
- Price Free admission. Registration required.
REfract@6degrees is a hybrid project with a solo dancer interacting with motion capture systems, avatars and Virtual Reality. Zelia ZZ TAN, explores identities in multiple spaces, times and realities in a post-human narrative immersed with visual images created by media artist Acci Baba (Japan/Germany), and works with dramaturgy Cally Yu (Hong Kong).
She has researched the transformation of the body in performances, avatars vs identities, and XR. This project is a continuation of what she has been focusing on. Last 2 months, Zelia focused on searching methodology for cross-disciplinary, cross-cultural collaboration with international teammates. They have experimented with media technologies (Luma AI, prototype of interaction) intersecting in dance.
Free admission. Registration is required: https://forms.gle/Yr5ejFY7dQNdWc2u8
This is Zelia‘s first work-in-progress event after Artist-in-Residency in Germany. The event has two parts.
- The first part is a talk with visual and sound documentation. She will share her choreographic approaches and the experience of hosting workshops with previous participants’ feedback from diverse communities.
- Second is 2 excerpts of dance performance. Zelia will introduce the phygital mirror, in which she dialogues with penguin doppelgängers. Zelia will open the thematic discussion at the end of the event.
* The work-in-progress event is part of REfract@6degrees, a creative project by ZZZT in collaboration with TechDanceLab, with the support of the International Coproduction Fund (Internationaler Koproduktionsfonds) of the Goethe-Institut.
* This presentation will be recorded by Joseph Cheong (Creative videographer), and used for the internal project documentation. Please let us know if you have any concerns.
