From Literature to Film (Vice Versa)

October is a film month because that's when KINO/23, our annual film festival, takes place. This year we also celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Goethe-Institut Hong Kong. As part of the celebrations, six special films spanning six decades have been selected, created by famous German film directors such as Konrad Wolf, Wim Wenders, and Tom Tykwer.

When we talk about famous film directors, have you ever thought about what inspired them in their work, be it literature or other films? Some of them have been inspired by literature, others perhaps by other films...

In October, the Goethe-Institut Hong Kong library will be offering a selection of literature, graphic novels and films that have inspired each other. You are welcome to borrow them.
