Festival Bumper Trailer

As KinoFest 2025, which is co-programmed by Lisabona Rahman, sheds light on the ideas revolving around family, Lazuardi plays with the cohesive value of family for the festival trailer. A hybrid kopitiam and mom-and-pop-shop is chosen as a set. This typical family-owned and run independent business is a staple in Southeast Asia.

The visual presence of individuals is depicted solitarily, whereas its collective idea is visualized in a nostalgic approach as family photos; It shows the dynamic shift of family value where the younger generation attempt to define their own path. Kopitiam is also a liminal space where a family-private ownership is partially shared with the public. This is where the idea of family as a social unit could vernacularly expand into a community.
