We are happy to invite you to the next installment of the ArtHouse Cinema program on Tuesday, August 23, 2016. This time we will screen the film called Negeri Tanpa Telinga (Land without Ears) directed by Lola Amaria.

A big conspirancy is taking place, influenced by the party Amal Syurga. Party leader Ustad Etawa (Lukman Sardi), who works together with a meat importer, tries to manipulate public funds to benefit his party. Piton (Ray Sahetapy), another political player of the powerful party Martobat, has grand ambitions to become president. To reach this goal, he needs funding; with this money he tries to influence the parliament.

The conspiracy and secret plans are scrutinized by Kapak, an organization that fights against corruption. At the same time, the activities of both party leaders have drawn the attention of TV journalist Chika Cemani (Jenny Zhang) who starts to investigate with the help of different sources. Through fate, massage therapist Naga (Teuku Rifnu Wikana) becomes involved in the story. After hearing all different sides and feeling under pressure, he asks his doctor Sangkakala (Landung Simatupang) to damage his hearing, so he won’t be able to listen to the malicious voices anymore.
