In Dili, Road to Seriale Indonesia 2026 marks a geographical and cultural expansion, opening up cross-border dialogue within Southeast Asia. In collaboration with the Dili International Film Festival, the programme situates serial formats within the evolving film landscape of Timor-Leste.

As a country with a developing film ecosystem, Timor-Leste demonstrates a growing creative momentum through festival initiatives, community-driven practices, and independent productions shaped by its historical experiences and social realities. Through the screening of selected series and curated discussions, the programme explores how serial storytelling might emerge as a new and adaptable format within this context.

The presence of Road to Seriale Indonesia in Dili represents an important step in extending the festival’s reach and fostering connections between Indonesian and Timorese creators. It aims to enrich perspectives, strengthen regional networks, and encourage the development of serial practices across the region.
