The Tyrone Guthrie Centre is based in the former family home of Sir Tyrone Guthrie, located in Annaghmakerrig, Co. Monaghan. Access to a car is an advantage due to the remoteness of the area.
Artist residencies/retreats are available in the Big House at €325 per week (€600 non-EU nationals) and in the self-catering Farmyard Cottages at €175 per week (€300 non-EU nationals). Studio spaces are also available along with a performance/dance space and a new print studio.
The Tyrone Guthrie Centre has been a place for artists’ residences since 1981 with approximately 500 artists working here each year. The Centre receives funding from the Arts Council and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, in addition to financial support by County Councils through Regional Bursary Schemes.
Applications are considered on an ongoing basis and go before a Selection Committee which meets quarterly.
