In 2026, the Goethe-Institut Tokyo will open the new Goethe Gallery Tokyo, an experimental exhibition space. With the open call REFLEKTOR, we invite curators to propose projects that rethink the cultural dialogue between Germany and Japan. We welcome concepts that emphasize exchange, participation, and artistic experimentation.
REFLEKTOR accepts a wide range of formats, including traditional exhibitions, multimedia installations, performances, and hybrid approaches. The gallery aims to serve as both a mirror for emerging perspectives and a space where cultures interact and reflect on one another.
REFLEKTOR is open to professional curators based in Japan with up to five years of professional experience.
