"Living and thriving by a dense forest demands surrender to its elements that bring both danger and a life of plenitude. What is it to live in a village by the very edge of a montane forest, in synchrony with the natural world?
 
Sensing oncoming rain just by the smell of the air, the distinct sound of a bird’s warning call and the toughened soles that don’t miss a step traversing the forest floor all of which may seem otherworldly in the eyes of a romantic city dweller. But to them, these traits are intrinsic to the place they live in, embedded in their every day. This series is an attempt to capture the essence of life hidden in the layers of mundanity of a village at the forested borders of the Knuckles mountain range in the central hills of Sri Lanka."
