Colombo Theatre Forum is a space provided for those who are trying to find new dimensions in the theatre field. It is also a space organized where theatre veterans, directors, script writers, actors and actresses, critics, lighting directors, back ground creators, stage managers, students and the spectators get together to widen the horizons of local and foreign theatre.
The Colombo Theatre Forum initiated in 2017 by the Inter Acts Art theatre group with the kind assistance of Goethe - Institut of Colombo have now completed successfully for three years a series of discussions about the past, present and the future of the theatre.
In addition to discussions about the European theatre, in 2020 the Forum takes another step forward where it has decided to talk about the local theatre and screening performance of local productions. Forum will be held on the last Tuesday of every month from 5.00 pm at the German Cultural Centre.
As the first step for the year 2020 “The present and the future of the Sri Lankan Children Theatre” will be discussed on January 28th at 5.00pm at the Goethe-Institut.

At present children's drama is produced at school, provincial and national levels for various competitions. But, what is the fate of such productions, what sort of encouragement is given to them after the competitions are over and which way these productions should be directed are matters be analyzed. The intention of this month's forum is to discuss these matters in depth.
