The Goethe-Institut Myanmar is seeking a committed and experienced colleague for the position of Project Administrator (on-site in Yangon), starting from August 2026. The position is part of a multi-year initiative supported by the European Union and will be offered on a three-year fixed-term contract.

About the Goethe-Institut and the Project
The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany, active worldwide. It promotes the German language abroad, fosters international cultural cooperation, and supports dialogue between civil societies.The Academy of Care (AoC) is a flagship initiative of the Goethe-Institut Myanmar focusing on creative arts therapies, trauma-informed care, and community-based approaches to trauma recovery, mental health, and psychosocial support (MHPSS).
Funded by the European Union, the project strengthens professional training, capacity building, and resilience in Myanmar’s care sectors. It promotes local and regional exchange and supports inclusive care practices for diverse communities across the country. By advancing the integration of creative arts therapies into mental health and wellbeing services, the AoC contributes to more holistic, accessible, and culturally responsive support systems in Myanmar.
Position Overview
The Project Administrator provides administrative, logistical, and technical support for the Academy of Care. A key part of the role is managing the Goethe Application Portal (GAP) in close coordination with Goethe-Institut Headquarter, including planning, setting up, and running digital grant processes.The position also supports the daily operations of the Creative Care Hub and Creative Therapy Training Initiatives by managing schedules, organizing venues, handling inventory, and coordinating activities on-site. At the same time, the role ensures that all project records are accurate and meet EU and organisational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Coordination and Implementation Support
- Plan and organise programme activities together with project coordinators
- Manage schedules, venue arrangements, and preparation of materials
- Provide on-site support during events and workshops
- Monitor implementation progress and maintain accurate documentation
GAP Management and Technical Support
- Manage the digital grant system, including data entry, tracking, and coordination throughout the grant lifecycle
- Handle digital contracting processes and ensure proper documentation
- Maintain grant data for monitoring, evaluation, and reporting purposes
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for applicants using the portal
Administrative and Operational Support
- Coordinate procurement, logistics, and inventory management
- Maintain project records, contact lists, calendars, and filing systems
- Support internal meetings by preparing agendas, taking minutes, and tracking follow-ups
- Ensure compliance with organisational procedures and requirements
Financial and Reporting Support
- Track expenses and maintain clear financial administration and documentation
- Support in preparing financial and activity reports
- Support timely reporting in line with programme and compliance requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience
- At least 3 years of experience in project administration, coordination, or operational support (preferably in NGO or development settings)
- Strong administrative experience, including scheduling, procurement, logistics, and reporting
- Experience in financial tracking, budgeting support, and handling contracts
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills in English and Myanmar (written and spoken)
- Ability to work independently and in a multicultural team environment
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and commitment to compliance standards
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with digital tools and systems
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
- Willingness to travel within Myanmar for programme support
Desirable
- Experience working with EU or other international donor-funded projects
- Familiarity with grant management systems (e.g. online application or funding portals)
- Experience supporting event coordination, training logistics, and multi-partner coordination
- Basic understanding of safeguarding and compliance frameworks in NGO settings
- Knowledge of German and/or ethnic languages spoken in Myanmar is an advantage
