The library of the Goethe-Institut Myanmar offers its visitors a modern, spacious, colorful and inviting space. Our library is much more than just a reading room! It is an attractive study and meeting place, providing a variety of media services. You can study, keep up-to-date with the latest German events, play (board) games or PS4 in a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. Alternatively, get inspired by our collection of beautiful art books, comics and graphic novels!

The library is open to the public. Admission and use of media on the premises is free of charge. Those wishing to borrow materials must acquire a valid Library card.

There is an annual fee of 10.000 MMK for Myanmar Nationals and 20.000 MMK for Foreigners. Enrolled Goethe-Institut Course Participants are entitled to free library membership.

Please bring an ID card, Passport or valid Student Card for Registration.

User can borrow up to five items at the same time, these may include a maximum of three Books and two DVDs/CDs.

You can register online on our website. Please fill in this form beforehand, to enter the most important data for your registration and to confirm your mail address in advance. Then come to the library and get our digital library card BibToGo now. The library team will also be happy to inform you during a personal visit.


All material: Two weeks

Materials may be renewed twice, except for pre-ordered items and exam preparation.

You can comfortably extend your media online in our library catalog after you have logged into your personal user account.
