Book Reading and Panel Discussion
The Goethe-Institut and the German Embassy in Manila, in partnership with the Halo-Halo Network, cordially invite you to a book presentation and panel discussion on the
role of the young (2nd generation) Filipinos in German-Philippine cooperation. This event is in the framework of the anniversary "70 Years of German-Philippine Partnership". At the beginning of the event the
Common Diversities book will be presented which is considered the first book of its kind written by and about the second generation Filipinos in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The book is an anthology of various authors' personal insights and experiences on common themes such as the search for a Filipino identity, learning the Filipino language, racism and discrimination.
In the panel discussion representatives of the young (second generation) Filipinos from Germany will talk about their engagement as cultural bridge builders in the business sector, in international cooperation and how they have founded a network for the second generation.
