The much-awaited International Silent Film Festival Manila (ISFFM) is back! Established in 2007 as the very first event of its kind in Asia, the ISFFM promises to bring once more to Manila film buffs and music aficionados an extraordinary experience. It is slated this year from August 31 to September 3 at the Shangri-La Plaza Cineplex in Mandaluyong.

The Goethe-Institut Philippinen participates once more, this time, with the film Pandora's Box (1929) by G. W. Pabst.

11th Silent Film Festival

Pandora’s Box follows the story of a seductive young woman named Lulu, whose raw sexuality and uninhibited nature bring ruin to herself and those who love her. Sensationally modern, the film is notable for its lesbian subplot and is one of silent cinema’s greatest masterworks.
