Bharath Murthy was born in Ahmedabad in the Indian state of Gujarat in 1978. This fan of the Japanese Manga and subculture works as a cartoonist, teacher and filmmaker. In 2010, he shot the TV documentary "The Fragile Heart of Moé" about Japanese comic culture. His first major book project "The Vanished Path," was released in 2015. He is the co-founder of the Indian Indie Comix Fest and is the editor of Vérité, a comic anthology for adults.

The difference between travel photography and travel drawing...
"... With any drawing, as David Hockney says, you bring time to it. It’s the act of looking and documenting that act which takes place in a fragmentary manner.
With photography, I think the act of looking comes later when we look at the photographs. Travel photography is for me just a subset of the snapshot. I think drawing something on location and taking a photo on the location are two completely different activities."
