Jenseits der blauen Grenze (2024)

A border crossing from the GDR to West Germany is observed, swimming 50 km through the Baltic Sea. In parallel, the adventurous drama tells the close friendship between three 15- year-olds, whose everyday life reflects different ways of dealing with the structures of the GDR: one protests and is constantly sanctioned, the second must put all her talents at the service of the state, the third is lucky, he receives permission to leave. All this ultimately leads to the spectacular escape that makes this film as exciting as it is touching.
