On 23rdJune 2022, the Goethe-Institut Thailand presented a very special book for learners of German: With "Kawin in Germany" they get to know the country and its people and train speaking and listening comprehension with the help of interactive video animations.

What is it like to go to Germany for a year as an exchange student? Many students from Thailand who are interested in Germany ask themselves this question. With a distance of 9,000 kilometers, "the Germans" and their everyday life are probably rather exotic. The Goethe-Institut has now published Kawin in Deutschland, a book for students of German that tells exactly this experience in an entertaining story.

Kawin in Germany is bilingual and is aimed at Thai learners of German from language level A1. During the book presentation, the students were able to try out the exercises and interactive video animations, which promote listening comprehension and speaking, directly with some Goethe-Institut teachers.

Training for teachers from September 2022 onwards

If you are interested in the book and would like to use it in your classes, you can participate in one of the planned training workshops starting from September 2022 onwards. There, they will receive free copies, learn more about the use of the book in DaF lessons and can practice using the exercises.

By the way, a continuation of Kawin's story is planned. Maybe he will like Germany so much that he will study and work here...
