Werner Fritsch, the most daring of Germany’s poets, will be our guest at the Goethe-Institut Thailand.

This evening of literature and film in the company of German star author and film producer Werner Fritsch, is definitely something to look forward to! Our presenter for the evening will be Maren Niemeyer, director of the Goethe-Institut Thailand. The event will take place in the Goethe-Saal on October 12th at 7 p.m.

In an atmosphere akin to literary salon, the award-winning author will talk about his breath-taking film project FAUST SONNENGESANG, revealing to us the most exciting clips from his film trilogy, shot in different parts of the world.

In 2010 Werner Fritsch completed Part 1 of FAUST SONNENGESANG, a 180- minute- long, experimental film-poem. The complete work is to comprise 6 parts, each 180 minutes long. Part 2 has now been released and Part 3 is underway.

Following the screening of Part 1 on German television, SPIEGEL ONLINE wrote:
”On his magnificent trip to hell, Germany’s most daring poet portrays a frenzy of wild splashes of colour and idyllic nature scenes, beautiful music and powerful lyrics, recited by star actors such as Corinna Harfouch, Angela Winkler und Ulrich Matthes … It does not matter whether you choose to interpret his plethora of images as wildly overtaxing or as a generous gift …“

Come and join us and decide for yourself!
