There is a lot going on at the Hartmanns': mother Angelika's single-handed decision to take in African asylum seeker Diallo after her visit to a refugee shelter has upset her husband Richard. Naturally, Diallo's arrival causes some upheaval and friction in the household. Then, daughter Sophie unexpectedly shows up: theeternal student is trying to shake off a manic admirer. To make matters worse, their stressed son, Philip, also returns home with his son Basti. Not surprisingly, the  situation leads to conflict and things soon take a turn for the worse.
