Description
The beginning of the adolescent phase is marked by puberty (sexual maturity). In most cultures, puberty begins one to two years earlier for girls than for boys. The age at which puberty usually begins also depends on the culture. For example, African adolescents usually enter puberty earlier than Western adolescents, while puberty for Asian adolescents mostly begins somewaht later. What they all have in common are the enormous physical changes that occur during this phase, which ultimately also have an impact on teaching.
