A village in the GDR in the fall of 1989: Together with her beloved uncle Mike and two friends Friederike is tinkering with a rocket. The cheerful space game is unexpectedly interrupted: Mike had applied for an exit visa and must leave the country within a few hours. Friederike is inconsolable over the loss, but she wants to get her uncle back. To do this, she and her friends want to develop a machine with which she can simply beam him back from the West to his old home. This venture is always suspiciously watched by the village policeman. A children's film about the last weeks of the GDR.
